The whole star cast of the film along with Abhay Deol and Kalki visited Jawaharalal Nehru University to promote their forthcoming action entertainer 'Shanghai'. The cast and the director of the movie Dibakar Banerjee were at the university campus to encourage a political debate and to talk about the movie. The lead Actor Abhay Deol heaped praises on the movie and more so on Kalki, his co-star of his forthcoming movie, “Shanghai" at Jawaharlal Nehru University freshly. In his interactions with students, during question answer round, Abhay Deol replying to a question posed by a student on his feelings and thoughts about Kalki, he astonished all with this answer.

Abhay told "Kalki is a great co-star to work with. Anurag is a lucky guy, I wish she was my wife". Abhay went on to add "She has such beautiful hair and such fair and lovely skin... I wish I was more like her". He tried to add humor in the atmosphere after her stunning comments which silenced the venue. It has to be seen how Kalki his co star reacts to his statements.

Shanghai is an upcoming Hindi political thriller film directed by Dibakar Banerjee, starring Emraan Hashmi, Abhay Deol, Kalki Koechlin, Prosenjit Chatterjee and Amin Raj and based on the novel Z by Vassilis Vassilikos. On 6th June 2012, High court refused stay on the release of the film. The film released on 8 June 2012 and got mixed reviews at box office.

Kalki Koechlin discloses hubby Anurag Kashyap’s jealousy, saying her hubby envy’s fellow director Dibakar Banerjee for making a movie like Shanghai.

“Anurag has seen ‘Shanghai’. He is little jealous of Dibakar Banerjee for having made a film like this,” said Kalki Koechlin.

The actress was at the world premiere of her film at the ongoing International Indian Film Academy awards in Singapore.
She was accompanied with co-star Abhay Deol and Dibakar Banerjee. Her hubby Kashyap was missing.

Kalki told, “He (Kashyap) doesn’t like to attend award functions. Also he is filming in Mumbai, that’s why he couldn’t come. But he supports me for the movie.”

Talking about her choosing only unconventional roles, Kalki told, “I really don’t know what is a conventional or unconventional role. I only do what I believe in and I know how to do for sure,”.

I don’t fit into village belle's character in Gangs Of Wasseypur: Kalki

Kalki Koechlin, who has worked in her husband Anurag Kashyap's directorial ventures, is not part of "Gangs Of Wasseypur" because, she tells, she doesn't fit into village belle's character.

Asked why she wasn't a part of the cast of Jharkhand-based "Gangs Of Wasseypur", Kalki told, "I don't look like a Bihari gaon ki ladki (a village girl from Bihar) from any angle. So that's simply why."

She worked in Kashyap's directorial project "Dev D" and "That Girl In Yellow Boots".

But at the same time, Kalki feels she is a spoilt actress, given the gamut of directors she gets to work with.

"I am very comfortable working with Dibakar (Banerjee), Zoya (Akhtar), Ayan (Mukerji) and Kannan (Iyer) sir. I am actually very spoilt. I get to work with all my favourite directors," Kalki told at an event.

The actress, who recently returned from the 65th Cannes International Film Festival, where her husband's two-part series "Gangs Of Wasseypur" was showcased, was here for a press conference for the forthcoming film "Shanghai".

The very stylish and sweet Kalki Koechlin accompanied her hubby dear Anurag Kashyap, at the ongoing Cannes Film Festival. The actress looked stunning in a Dior resort ensemble.

However, the fashion police had complains with her dress as the color of the outfit looked pale on her. Since she is fair complexioned, a darker color would have looked even more lovely on the actress.

Completing her look with a retro-updo, a statement necklace, a Dior clutch, and neutral make-up, we think Kalki looked stunning.
