A curious eyes glimpse of Aaradhya Bachchan!

We finally got a glimpse of Aishwarya and Abhishek Bachchan’s daughter, Aaradhya.

Big B recommends the Gangs of Wasseypur for cinema goers!

Amitabh Bachchan was super awed by Gangs of Wasseypur which released last Friday. Ever since the actor watched the movie, his blog has been flooding with its reviews and strongly recommends the film to each and everyone.
On Friday, the film ran houseful in most parts.
“Quite undoubtedly the moment of the day has been the film ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ (GOW), which I have had the great privilege to see. Indian Cinema at its best, honest, stark and as painfully real as possible. For one that has been born and lived a major portion of his life in almost similar environment, or at least exposed to it to some degree, I found so much that I could well relate to. And that has led to the authenticity…,” Big B posted on his blog.
“Anurag Kashyap has not done any fancy shot taking and allowed the visuals to flow as they would, were one to be living those circumstances in real time,” he posted.
The movie has stellar performances by Manoj Bajpayee, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Richa Chadha and Piyush Mishra.
Praising Manoj Bajpayee, the 69-year-old posted, “Manoj Bajpayee in particular, and of all the artists right down to the smallest in capacity and presence, has been beautifully done. No one looked or performed out of place. They just did enough and that was effective enough.”
“Importantly though, the film GOW touched and expanded on a topic that apart from the blood and gore and the violence educated us on a social issue which most of us may never have heard of. The disparities yes, on more social and moral levels, but also on a factor that concerns religion and the evil that exists within most of the polity even now about it. In all a glorious film and one that I would recommend strongly,” he wrote.

Stand up against husband’s extra-marital affairs, says Mona Singh!

Mona Singh

Ekta Kapoor, Mona Singh, Pawan Shankar
Actor Mona Singh won hearts as an unattractive, yet confident duckling in "Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi", and now as a strong woman who battles her husband's unfaithfulness in "Kya Huaa Tera Vaada", she wants to inspire women across the country.
"As an actor, I am here to inspire women in whatever way I can," Mona said.
"There are many women who aren't treated well, whose husbands have extra-marital affairs and yet there are women who accept them back. But here I want to tell them to stand up for themselves and not be dependent on their husband for every decision and for money," she added.
In the show, the actress plays Mona, a happily married woman with three kids. Their family life is perfect until her husband goes back to his college sweetheart.
The current track of the Sony show features Mona who steps out of her life as a homemaker to make a mark for herself and be financially independent for the sake of her kids.
"A women has to be independent, she has to be working. She has to go out and meet new people," tells the 31-year-old.
While Mona's husband is essayed by actor Pawan Shankar, actress Mouli Ganguly plays his love interest.
The show's track has been compared with that of David Dhawan's 1999 hit movie "Biwi No.1". But Mona tells it isn't totally so.
"To a certain extent I agree, because the man did have an extra-marital affair and there was infidelity, but that was a three-hour movie. However, this is a serial and it will last for one year or two years at least, so it cannot be based on a movie," Mona told.
In the time that Mona was away from small screen's fictional content, she was seen on the big screen in films like "3 Idiots" and "Utt Patangg". Her association with TV was only limited with reality shows "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 4", "Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega 4" and "Shaadi 3 Crore Ki".
Just when everybody thought she had shifted to the big screen, she came back to TV.
To this, Mona tells movies are just a bonus and her heart lies with the idiot box.
"I was never going to quit television. You'll never read a single interview of mine where I have said that 'Okay, this is it! I have done enough, of television and now I am quitting.' Quitting was never my idea," Mona told.
"I started from television, I belong here and I will continue to do this. Movies will happen whenever they are supposed to happen. Movies will be bonus for me, television is my everyday bread, butter and jam and everything," she added.

Mamata Banerjee, Shah Rukh Khan
As critics criticized Mamata Banerjee for giving a rousing welcome to a private corporate team like KKR, Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan defended the West Bengal chief minister's action.

"There is no harm in being happy and sharing happiness. Nobody should criticize it. It's alright to be happy," told Shahrukh, the co-owner of the Kolkata Knight Riders which lifted the Indian Premier League (IPL) trophy.

"Let's not be political. It has been done because we all are happy. There is no wrong if we bring a small pinch of happiness in the city of joy," he told.

King Khan, who is also Bengal's brand ambassador, along with the KKR team was felicitated by Banerjee for winning the IPL tournament.

Aamir Khan in Satyamev Jayate
Aamir Khan’s newest TV show, “Satyamev Jayate” has shaken the whole nation from her sleep. The reality show has inspired so many people across the country. The most recent we hear is that in a small village in Rajasthan, a sarpanch registered a police complain against women and families who go for tests to detect and abort the girl child.
“Illegal sex determination is rampant in the Shekhawati region (Jhunjhunu, Churu and Sikar districts),” sarpanch Randheer Singh of Budania village said.
The sarpanch also told that a committee of six-members has been formed to take a closer look at women who are expecting.
“After watching Aamir Khan’s TV show ‘Satyamev Jayate’ on female foeticide, I felt that awareness in Rajasthan is not enough,” he told.

“Checking female foeticide at the village level is necessary to save girl children.”
He also told that almost every pregnant woman in the village is known by auxiliary nurses and midwives.
“If a woman is found involved in illegal sex determination and abortion of a girl child, an FIR (First Information Report) will be filed against her with the police,” Singh told.
“If she is forced to abort by her in-laws, similar action will be taken against them also,” he told.

Vikas Bahl has signed Kangna Ranaut for his upcoming chick flick Queen. The Chillar Party director is currently penning the script for the film that is already in pre-production, and all I can tell you right now is that Kangna will play a Delhigirl in it. The film is being co-produced by Phantom Films and Viacom 18, and there is buzz that it will do for Kangna’s career what The Dirty Picture did for Vidya Balan. That’s a pretty big claim from a film that hasn’t even finished scripting yet, what say you?!

What’s interesting is that “Pithamagan” just like ‘Tere Naam’, belongs to director Bala. Actor Surya acted in both the movies.

Farhan’s hard work for looking like the 17-year-old sprinter!

Farhan Akhtar, film Bhaag Milkha Bhaag

Farhan Akhtar, Milkha Singh

Essaying the role of an athlete is not easy. After undertaking a rigorous regime to get into the character of Milkha Singh, Farhan Akhtar will now have to work hard to look like the 17-year-old sprinter in the film "Bhaag Milkha Bhaag".
This is the time, during the 1950s, when Milkha Singh was a 17-year-old army recruit.
A source close to the project revealed, "Farhan worked really hard to look at least 10 years less than his actual age to look like Milkha in the 1960s. Farhan would now have to knock off another 10 years from his real age to look like the 17-year-old Milkha, the army-boy in the 1950s."
Farhan, who spent a lot of time researching the army for his war film "Lakshya", would undertake at least a fortnight of on-the-spot training in an army cantonment to get the hang of that particular phase of Milkha's career.
Taking a breather from shooting in the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi, director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra told, "We're not looking anywhere except at getting the on- screen Milkha as correctly on screen as possible. It's not about just looking like Milkha Singh or running like him.
"Farhan got that right once when he trained for the athlete's phase in Milkha's life. I'm sure Farhan would get it right again when we shoot another phase in Milkha's life."
When persuaded to reveal more on how Farhan intends to look 17 years old as an army recruit, Mehra told, "We've shot the runner's phase. We will be going back further into Milkha's life. I'm sure Farhan would be able to pull it off with full conviction. We don't know how much of Milkha Singh's life we'd finally be able to get on screen. We are doing our job to the best of our abilities."
Incidentally, the success of another biopic, Tigmanshu Dhulia's "Paan Singh Tomar" on a sprinter's life, has put additional pressure on the Milkha project.
"Bhaag Milkha Bhaag" producers Viacom 18 are keen to ensure that there are no resemblances between the two films.
Mehra told, "We aren't looking at anything except Milkha's life and how to put it on screen. We've the real Milkha Singh with us. He is currently out of the country. But the minute he returns, he'll be joining us."

Ram Charan Teja takes Hindi lessons for remake of Big B’s 'Zanjeer'

Ram Charan Teja

Telugu star Ram Charan Teja is not fluent in Hindi, but that isn't likely to come in the way of his Bollywood debut project - "Zanjeer" remake - as his character lets his silence speak. However, the actor is taking Hindi tutorials.
Teja, who is superstar Chiranjeevi's son, will play the role of cop Vijay, a silently seething social outcast.
"I'm working on my Hindi for sure. I've got a tutor to teach me the nuances. Waise meri Hindi utni buri nahin hai (Anyway, my Hindi is not that bad). But yes, it's a character who screams through his silence," told Teja.
"So let's just say I'd let my silence speak louder than my words. That's how my director Apoorva Lakhia and I are working on my character," he added.
For now, Teja has larger concerns to deal with -- like stepping into megastar Amitabh Bachchan's shoes. Big B, as the latter is fondly called, played Vijay in the original film.
"So far dealing with being Chiranjeevi's son was a challenge enough. But that challenge is nothing when compared with what I face now. To get into the space of India's biggest star-actor is a prospect that I am not brooding over," told Teja.
But he isn't mulling over prospective comparison with the much senior Amitabh.
"If I think about how I'll be compared in our 'Zanjeer' with Mr. Bachchan, I wouldn't be able to get into it. I've constantly lived under the shadow of comparisons.
"When I started in Telugu cinema in 2007, I was judged as the great Chiranjeevi's son. If I cowered, thinking I was being seen only as an heir-apparent and not an individual, I'd have been immobilised. I just did what came naturally to me," he said.
Teja's father Chiranjeevi too tried his luck in Hindi films like "Pratibandh" and "Mera Maqsad", and the young actor feels that language is no bar for him.
"He did some films in Hindi and then returned to Telugu cinema. The world has shrunk since then. To me, Hindi cinema is only an extension of what I'm already doing. It doesn't matter what the language of a film is. A movie is a movie at the end of the day," he said.
Apart from "Zanjeer", Teja's most well-known Telugu film "Magadheera" might be remade in Hindi.
But Teja says he isn't interested in doing the film in Hindi.
"I'm done with that character and role. 'Magadheera' was a special challenge. But to recreate that challenge would be of no use. I'd rather do a 'Zanjeer' which has been done earlier by another actor. I'd like to see where I can take that role," he said.
There are also plans to bring the father-son duo together on screen soon.
"My father has completed 149 films. I hope to produce his 150th film and be part of it as an actor as well," said Teja, who has no plans of getting into politics like his father.
"I'm happy being an actor. I don't see myself in the role of a politician at all," he said.
But was there a lot of politics in southern movies?
"Not at all," said Teja, adding: "All of us in Telugu cinema who are working as leading men, share a common platform. We're competitors on screen. But once we're out of the studios we're one big family.
"In that sense, cinema is a lot like politics. My father says when he enters the Assembly, all the politicians debate, argue and fight. But once they are done, they become friends again."
