Emraan is ready to romance with Vidya Balan in Mumbai monsoon!

‘Ghanchakkar’ starring Vidya Balan and Emraan Hashmi, has been preponed by a month. The director of the film, Rajkumar Gupta, is currently on top of the world as his wish of capturing the two actors romancing in the Mumbai monsoon, finally comes true.
Originally, due to Emraan’s time constraints, the shooting was supposed to begin in September.
Gupta told, “I had originally planned an August schedule. And Vidya, who is at the moment doing no other movie, was completely one with my film’s schedule. But Emraan was busy promoting Raaz 3 in August as the movie was supposed to release at the end of August.”
He further added, “But now I believe ‘Raaz 3 has been pushed forward, so I got the window to shoot the scenes that I wanted. I guess I am just lucky. The whole idea is to capture Vidya and Emraan with secret cameras, on the rain-soaked streets of Mumbai. However, this requires a lot of courage. I agree. But both are used to shooting in the crowded outdoors. If Vidya could brave the Kolkata crowds in Kahaani and the Delhi crowd in my film No One Killed Jessica, then Mumbai would be a cakewalk in comparison.”
“The important thing is god has been generous. Thanks to Emraan’s reshuffled appointment diary, I’m able to shoot as and when I had originally planned,” he told.
The movie is most likely to release in the first quarter of 2013.

Kareena’s detestation for Emraan gives advantage to Deepika!

Kareena Kapoor, Emraan Hashmi

Deepika Padukone
Deepika Padukone is on a roll. After Kareena rejecting Ekta Kapoor – Karan Johar’s movie, it is heard that Deepika has taken Kareena’s place and will be seen opposite Emraan Hashmi.
It is heard that Kareena told no to Ekta-Karan because she wasn’t comfortable working with Hashmi. However, Deepika, who is known to explore the Bollywood industry, has no problem working with Emraan.
A source close to the Balaji- Dharma project disclosed, “It is strange Kareena was not happy with her role. She also told Ekta and Karan that her marriage would be around the same time they wanted to start shooting for the film. It’s a heroine-oriented movie and Emraan is not the mainstay of the project. Deepika was so thrilled about her role that she agreed to it a couple of days before boarding the flight to Turkey, where she is currently shooting for Race 2.”
If sources are to be believed, it is told that after giving ample thought, Kareena decided to return to the project. “It would have been unethical to show Deepika the door then. Moreover, they were unanimous in their opinion that Deepika could pull off the role as efficiently as Kareena would have,” further added the source.
“The film is an urban take on love – it is quirky, edgy and dramatic,” tells an insider.
The movie will go on floors by end of this year.

Karan Johar’s two movies offer for Emraan Hashmi!

Karan Johar

Emraan Hashmi

Emraan Hashmi is actually having a good time these days. A number of directors are approaching him for work. Most recent news is that, Karan Johar has approached the serial kisser of Bollywood for two of his movies. One movie is to be directed by Rensil D’Silva and produced by Karan’s home production company. In an interview, the talented director was all in praise for Hashmi. He divulged his plans of casting Emraan in Silva’s film, as well as told that he is contemplating on featuring the Casanova of Bollywood in another project also.

Karan tells he waited so long for a right script to come so that he could work with Hashmi. The way Emraan is building up his acting career day by day is what earned a lot of respect in Karan Johar’s mind. Emraan Hashmi is unquestionably a bankable star; he has given a number of hits in recent times like “Murder 2”, “Once Upon A Time In Mumbai”, “The Dirty Picture” and “Jannat 2”.
Karan tells in his movie, the role which will be played by Emraan is a suitable role for the star. Though the character is very different from any characters which Emraan played still now.

Randeep Hooda replaces Emraan Hashmi in Murder-3!

Emraan Hashmi, Randeep Hooda
Emran Hashmi shot into fame by committing hot murder with Malliika Sherawat and became popular as serial kisser. He never looked back as he enjoyed kissing and seducing hot beauties. Freshly he went on to declare "Murder" is my turf", in a joint interview with Mahesh Bhatt. Both of them had even come together to promote their movie "Jannat 2", silencing their detractors. Mahesh said it has become difficult to catch hold of Emraan post the success of "Dirty Picture" and "Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai", Emraan told that he needed to do movies outside their banner and his comfort zone to prove himself as an actor.
This lead to speculation that Emran will be starring in Murder sequel but to everyone's shock he was replaced by Randeep Hooda and sources claim that there is a certain Bhatt behind Emraan's ouster. According to insider, "Both Mukesh and Vishesh went to Emraan with the script for narration. However, when Emraan heard the story, he felt that there were some serious loopholes that needed to be addressed in order to make it a better film." What's more, Emraan even refused to sign the film unless those changes were implemented. The source further adds, "This irked Vishesh, who felt that Emraan was acting pricey due to his star status; thus he signed Randeep instead."
Reacting to this, Emraan tells, "They (the Bhatts) are family, so I guess I'll always be associated with them somewhere. But I do have the freedom to say no to a film as well." When contacted, Randeep, who is presently shooting in Sri Lanka for "Jism 2", sounded excited about working with the Bhatts again. "Jannat 2" was a great experience and all I can say right now is that I'm thrilled to be doing "Murder 3"." Has this recent development caused any issues between him and Emraan? "Not at all. We both are doing a film together which is not a Vishesh Films production. We both are cool,"
Mukesh Bhatt tells, "The reason why we picked Randeep was that both "Murder" and " Murder 2" were targeted at single screen audiences, but my son Vishesh wanted to make an urban film that targets the multiplex audience as well. And for that, he thought that Randeep fit the bill perfectly". However Mahesh Bhatt is unavailable for explanation.

The conventional item numbers are very boring: Emraan Hashmi

Emraan Hashmi is all set to grove to item songs but on one condition: it has to be unique and different from the rest.
“The conventional item numbers are very boring. I don’t like the way they are presented. I will do something different,” he told. He also added jokingly, that if Dibakar Banerjee, his Shanghai director will cast him in an item number, he will take it up on the spot.
Shanghai has changed people’s perception Emraan Hashmi.

“‘Shanghai’ de-constructed perception that people had about me. A new Emraan Hashmi has been showcased. After this whatever role I play, it should be as unpredictable as this. I want to surprise the audience,” he said.
The actor also told, “‘Shanghai’ is very different. We have made a film which breaks convention.” Though the film did not start on a great note, Emraan says, “but the jump we got, the response I got on SMS and everything is a win-win situation for the entire team. This film needs your support so that more films like ‘Shanghai’ can be made.”
Emraan is a very resourceful actor. He doesn’t want to be tagged in a particular role.
“I want to be an actor who pitches his films to everyone. We know there is a divided audience. Some actors are safe and cater to one particular set of audience. But I really respect Dibakar for making a film like ‘Shanghai’. He took the risk of making something totally different. The praise that I have got for Jogi Parmar, I have hardly ever heard such praise in my career. After ‘Shanghai’, I would want to do more films like this,” he told.
And what about those who did not like the film?

Emraan told, “You can’t please everyone. You will have people who love your film and detractors as well. In this case, they haven’t understood the film….”

Emraan Hashmi or Saif Ali Khan may be next bikini killer!

Bikini killer Charles Sobhraj

Emraan Hashmi

Saif Ali Khan
Producer Kumar Mangat is set to bring bikini killer Charles Sobhraj's escapades on the big screen as "Jailbreak". Directed by Prawaal Raman, it is said to be based on the dreaded murderer's prison break from Delhi's Tihar jail.
It was previously to be a biopic to be produced by Sanjay Dutt, who was to play the lead role, but this was shelved due to legal issues. Mangat's son Abhishek Pathak has now confirmed that the movie is to be made in a new avtar. It is said to be made at a budget of Rs.40 crore.
"We saw the vast research that Prawaal has done on Sobhraj and we did our own research too. We've now pooled our information and Prawaal, whom we find to be a very gifted storyteller, will be directing the biopic," told Pathak.
Raman's prior project with Sanjay was thrown into trouble after Sobhraj sued him for making a movie on his life.
"We'll probably get rid of the original title 'Charles and I' and call the film 'Jailbreak', because that is the aspect of the story that interests me at this point of time. Sobhraj's 1986 jailbreak from Tihar would be the core of the film. The film is based on Sobhraj's jailbreak. It will definitely be inspired by the incident. But I'm not interested anymore in making a biopic on Sobhraj," said the director.
The makers are planning to cast either Saif Ali Khan or Emraan Hashmi to play the lead role.
"We're looking at Emraan Hashmi or Saif Ali Khan," said Pathak.
Raman tells he is keen to talk to the policemen who had caught Sobhraj.
"I find the cops involved in the arrest namely Mr. Amod Kanth and Mr.Madhurkar Zende far more inspiring than Sobhraj. So there will be three main male characters in 'Jailbreak'. A man who spent 40 years of his life in prison doesn't really interest me to base an entire film on him."

Mumbai Congress wants ban on 'Shanghai' song!

The Mumbai unit of the Congress party Tuesday called for a ban on the song 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' featured in a upcoming Bollywood film "Shanghai", saying it hurts patriotic sentiments and degrades India.
In a letter addressed to union Minister for Information & Broadcasting Ambika Soni, Mumbai Congress vice-president Charan Singh Sapra has contended that the content of the entire song is an insult to all countrymen who respect India as their motherland.
Hence it is very likely to inflame the feelings of all Indians, resulting in disharmony, rioting, breach of peace and tranquility within the country, Sapra told.
The song contains controversial words like Sarkari Hathiyaar, Dhandha, Chanda, Dengue, Malaria, Gobar (cowdung), which Sapra alleged are deliberately used to defame the country.
Such defaming language has been used despite the full knowledge that the same shall definitely wound the patriotic feelings and sentiments of the people, besides ridiculing and degrading India in the eyes of the world, he urged.
Sapra has sought an urgent and total ban on the song from being broadcast/telecast in any manner, deleting it from the movie and to fix accountability and initiate action against the concerned censor board officials who cleared the offensive number.
Based on the novel by Vassilis Vassilikos, "Shanghai" is a political thriller directed by D. Banerjee and stars Emraan Hashmi and Abhay Deol.

It is heard that, Hashmi has already signed his first film with the Karan camp and is fast becoming a favorite of many producers, including Karan johar.
If buzz is to be believed, Kareena is reworking on her dates just so that she gets to work with Emraan.
A source tells, “As Kareena and Emraan are a very fresh pair, she’s very keen on working with him. She is excited to be part of the Karan film.”

I want to be a strong mass actor: Emraan Hashmi

Ever since he stepped into the film industry, Emraan Hashmi has seen only success. The actor has been giving hits film after film. However, the actor doesn’t seem to be satisfied with the movies he is presently doing and says he wants to do something more riskier.
“I have never really wanted to sort myself and other actors by that list. I have always done films that I believed in and yes it is very important for box office collections to do well. I have never really wanted to belong,” the 33-year-old told.
After delivering hits like Murder 2 and The Dirty Picture, the actor gets another hit with Jannat 2.
“I’d rather not belong to a particular list and just do movies I probably did four years back. I don’t want to get safer with the success of ‘Jannat 2. I want to do riskier films and make them a success,” he added.
To Emraan, its the mass that matter and not the class.
“I hold the verdict of the people who watch films cinematically in single screens very close to my heart. I go to single screens to watch the reaction of the people. For me that is a big reward. I have always wanted to be a strong mass actor,” told Emraan Hashmi.
Emraan will next be seen in Dibakar Banerjee’s Shanghai.

Kissing is not a bold gesture: filmmaker Kunal Deshmukh

Emraan Hashmi and Esha Gupta

Kunal Deshmukh
Jannat 2 has a high factor of sensuality, admits filmmaker Kunal Deshmukh. However, according to the director, kissing is not a bold gesture. The film stars Emraan Hashmi in the lead role.
“There are no bold scenes in the movie. I don’t think a lip lock is bold anymore. This film is not pushing on sex. I wanted a small love making sequence and a couple of lip locks which Esha Gupta was comfortable as an actor,” Kunal Deshmukh said.
Deshmukh’s first choice of actress preference was Prachi Desai. But since she wasn’t very comfortable doing the love making scenes, Esha Gupta was finalized.
“When I first pitched the story to Prachi, the sensuality was a little low and she was very clear about what she is willing to do and what she is not willing to do. I was told by Bhatt sir that we need to step up in terms of sensuality in the film because Bhatt cinema requires little bit of skin show, little bit of lip-lock because it is expected from an Emraan film,” told Kunal Deshumkh.
“I had a conversation with Prachi and I am glad that she made things clear about what she is willing to do. Then we parted ways. No point on having an ugly conversation on the sets,” included the 30-year-old.

Emraan Hashmi graces the Cover of Filmfare, April 2012

Emraan Hashmi needs to chew tobacco only for Dibakar Banerjee!

Emraan Hashmi bid adieu to smoking a long time back but little did the actor knew he would have to chew tobacco soon. To play a foul-mouthed reporter in Dibakar Banerjee's "Shanghai", he had to re-start the habit.
On the first day of the shoot, Emraan was asked to chew tobacco for a scene and it was not a pleasant experience. Tobacco left him with such a distaste that Emraan almost threw up and felt excited.
The director insisted that since his role required him to do it, there was no other way out. After a lot of discussions, Banerjee and Emraan came to the conclusion that the actor should chew tobacco.
