Preity Zinta, one of the fittest and alluring actresses, finds nothing wrong with being curvaceous. She believes size issues are a personal choice, and tells she supports Vidya Balan for flaunting her curves proudly and setting a new trend.

"I think she (Vidya Balan) is a fabulous actress. What's wrong with her? There is always a rule - it takes one to lead and rest to follow. The choice you have to make is whether you are a leader or a follower," Preity told.

"If there is one size zero and if 10 people want to become size zero, it's a different thing. If one is a size 12 or 10, and people want to be size 10, it's a different thing," she added.

"The Dirty Picture", one of 2011's biggest hits, saw Vidya flaunting her curves in the role of southern sex siren Silk.

"I think Vidya Balan is beautiful, she is gorgeous and she is a fabulous actor," further added Preity.

About the hype being created around size zero, Preity told, "For normal people, it is very unfair to keep saying 'size zero is beautiful'. Being overweight is not good because it is bad for your health. (But) there is no such thing that this is the only size."

"I feel really bad for the normal people because their pressure is - 'If you eat this diet, you will look like her', which is really wrong, you can't look like anyone else," Preity said.

The actress has been away from the arc lights for a long while now and is set to stage a comeback with her debut production "Ishkq in Paris".

‘Ghanchakkar’ starring Vidya Balan and Emraan Hashmi, has been preponed by a month. The director of the film, Rajkumar Gupta, is currently on top of the world as his wish of capturing the two actors romancing in the Mumbai monsoon, finally comes true.

Originally, due to Emraan’s time constraints, the shooting was supposed to begin in September.

Gupta told, “I had originally planned an August schedule. And Vidya, who is at the moment doing no other movie, was completely one with my film’s schedule. But Emraan was busy promoting Raaz 3 in August as the movie was supposed to release at the end of August.”

He further added, “But now I believe ‘Raaz 3′ has been pushed forward, so I got the window to shoot the scenes that I wanted. I guess I am just lucky. The whole idea is to capture Vidya and Emraan with secret cameras, on the rain-soaked streets of Mumbai. However, this requires a lot of courage. I agree. But both are used to shooting in the crowded outdoors. If Vidya could brave the Kolkata crowds in Kahaani and the Delhi crowd in my film No One Killed Jessica, then Mumbai would be a cakewalk in comparison.”

“The important thing is god has been generous. Thanks to Emraan’s reshuffled appointment diary, I’m able to shoot as and when I had originally planned,” he told.

The movie is most likely to release in the first quarter of 2013.

Speaking to media this modest director from south tells, "I made Wanted and Rowdy Rathore is my second film. I came from South and Bollywood has accepted me and I am happy about it".

A sequel to Pyaar Ke Side Effects is at last finalized. The movie is titled Shaadi Ke Side Effects. Farhan Akhtar will be replacing Rahul Bose, while Vidya Balan takes the place of Mallika Sherawat.

The producer of the film Pritish Nandy tells that it is a funny, clever, wild film, portraying love, before and after marriage.

The sequel will be directed by Saket Choudhary, music for the film will be by Pritam. The movie will also mark Farhan Akhtar’s first rom-com. He is very thrilled to work with Vidya Balan.

Vidya Balan is excited too, about the film as she loved the original one. She told, “Saket’s observation of relationships is simple and that makes it naturally and perhaps sometimes even unintentionally funny, mad and sexy.”

The release date of Shaadi Ke Side Effects is not confirmed yet.

Vidya Balan receives a lot of criticism for her Lavani item song!

However if one thought that she turned sex bomb after turning dirty in 'Dirty Picture', then they are mistaken. Sources disclose that film makers of Ferrai Ki Sawari who are casting Vidya as item girl are not at all impressed with her performance.

It is heard that Vidya has been receiving a lot of criticism for her role as an item girl in the new film Ferrari Ki Sawari. The track which goes Mala Jau De... is a traditional Lavani number. Moreover, the talk is that Vidya was looking quite fat whereas item girls are expected to be slim and trim.

From her end, Vidya is confident that the song will remain a highlight for the movie. Vidya performed a lavani number as a Maharashtrian girl for the song called Mala jao dya na ghari. Praising the song, she added, “I can’t believe I got an opportunity to dance to this one. It’s so much of nautanki (entertainment), adaa (grace), nazaakat (elegance), so much of energy, so crazy.”

We all know that much in love pair Vidya Balan and her beau Siddharth Roy Kapur loves to take romantic breaks in between their hectic schedule and love to spend time with one another. Very recently for a getaway, they went on a tour to Goa. And Vidya thought of traveling in budget class with commoners instead of business class, and did so. Hot Rakhi Sawant who will be starring in Bengali remake of Vidya Balan's 'Dirty Picture' tells she is more dirtier than Vidya and will do better than her.

The 33-year-old will play a sex siren in the untitled movie to be directed by Bengali actress-turned-politician Shatabdi Roy and she says her film will set more tongues wagging than the original. Rakhi went on to say "The film is based on the life of an item girl and it is only befitting that I take on the role as I am the original item girl of Bollywood. I admire Vidya a lot. I think she is a great actress and she did a great job in the film. But now it is my turn and I will do a better ooh lala than her. After this film I am hoping that everyone will chant only my name,"

Item girl Rakhi Sawant is all set to star in the Bengali remake of " The Dirty Picture" and she says she will be better than National Award winning actress Vidya Balan. MP and Tollywood actor Tapas Pal is producing the film. Rakhi told she will turn red hot in 'Oo Lala' song making people forget Vidya. Rakhi adds "I have only done item songs and done small parts in films. This will be the very first time that I will be doing a full fledged film with dialogues, song and dance and that too in Bengali. I have already done an item song in Shatabdi's film Om Shanti. I am learning Bengali because I want to dub for myself. I have asked the director to give me the full Bengali script written in Hindi,"

Vidya Balan now wants to try her luck in Marathi films!

After proving herself in Hindi films, National Award winner Vidya Balan now wants to try her chance in Marathi movies.

"I want to do Marathi films. There is some great work happening in Marathi cinema. Marathi movies are doing well," she told.

Vidya, who is not a trained dancer, always wanted to do a lavani dance and was more than happy to do a lavani item number in "Ferrari ki Sawaari".

In a complete red sari, Vidya sizzled on stage as she performed the item number for the audience. On public demand, she was asked to repeat the act.

"I always had a dream to do a lavani. But I thought lavani is done only in Marathi films but I was amazed when I got a call from Chopra productions. I was more than happy to do this lavani. I really drove my choreographer Standley nuts while filming this song," she told.

The actress claims she has not received any adverse comment for this song.

"I haven't come across any criticism yet for this song. I got a call from someone who said that I reminded them of some genuine lavani dancers. With all the respect I would not like to take their names. I am happy for myself."

Asked who was her inspiration for lavani songs, Vidya told, "Madhuri Dixit of course. I really liked Madhuri's song in 'Sailaab' and 'Sangeet'. I also admire Smita Patil in 'Bhoomika'."

Vidhu Vinod Chopra, director Rajesh Mapuskar and the film's stars Boman Irani and Sharman Joshi were also present on the occasion.

"Ferrari Ki Sawari" is slated for release June 15.

Size zero may be a fashion, but actress Vidya Balan, who flaunted her curves unabashedly in "The Dirty Picture", tells she is all for the Indian woman's curvaceous body.

"The only zero I am associated with is the zero cholesterol and zero trans-fat that are feature of Aliva snacks... and yes, the zeroes that come in my cheque," Vidya quipped on being asked if she would ever support the size zero figure.

"I like the curvaceous Indian woman's body. And if I may say so, I am well-endowed," she further added.

The 33-year-old was here for the official announcement of her appointment as brand ambassador of a new range of snacks brand Aliva, from the Pepsico stable.

Dressed in a shocking pink sari teamed with her trademark elbow-length sleeved blouse, Vidya looked elegant, and her vibrant, fun-loving mood justified her choice of colour.

Vidya tells she likes to flaunt a mix of traditional and modern.

"A part of me is very traditional, which is why you see me wearing a lot of saris. But a part of me will always wear these low-back blouses," she said, as she sat up to show her deep cut back of her blouse to the audience.

“I think I grew up watching all his films where he plays the ultimate romantic hero. When you think of romance you think of Rajesh Khanna and Shah Rukh Khan. These are the names that are foremost on my mind. Every woman wants a Raj (SRK’s character in ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’). That’s why I have always wanted to work with him. Whenever we work together, I would like it to be a nice relationship story,” she told.

Putting rest to all the rumor about her relationship status, Vidya Balan at last confesses that she is dating the UTV CEO Siddharth Roy Kapur.

“I will admit that I am dating him but not beyond that,” Vidya Balan is quoted as saying by a news agency.

On questioning about her wedding plans, Vidya answered: “I don’t have any plans yet… and there is no engagement ring yet. It’s a while away and I am in no hurry. But it’s on my mind and there is a plan at some point.”

Vidya Balan receives National Award for The Dirty Picture!

She is one actress in Bollywood, who is bold, beautiful and super talented. Well, we are talking about Vidya Balan. Bollywood is truly lucky to have found her. The actress received the National Award from the Indian Vice President Hamid Ansari in New Delhi for her outstanding performance in The Dirty Picture, on Thursday.

Vidya, donned a rose pink-coloured Kanjeevaram saree and needless to tell, she looked stunning as always.

Vidya Balan after having recieved the award, told reporters, “I am extremely humbled. This (National Award) is the highest honour for any actor, and I feel happy and humbled and I just wish that the team of The Dirty Picture was with me to share this moment. This is truly humbling,”.

Vidya’s parents had accompanied her to the event. What was interesting is that her boyfriend Siddharth Roy Kapur was also presnet at the same event, receiving the award for Chillar Party (Best Children’s Film) on behalf of UTV.

The 59th National Film Awards ceremony was a grand event.

Sujoy Ghosh’s next Kahani with Vidya and Big B!

Filmmaker Sujoy Ghosh, who is planning a sequel to "Kahaani", is first set to work on a project that he tells will "definitely" have Amitabh Bachchan and Vidya Balan in it.

Both actors form a central part of "Kahaani". While Big B sang "Ekla chalo re", Vidya played the lead in the film, and has earned appreciation galore for her portrayal of a woman in search of her missing husband.

After "Kahaani", Ghosh intends to move to Bengali literature. He will be filming an adaptation of Bengali novelist Sunil Gangopadhyay's "Aranyer Din Ratri" with Vidya and Amitabh playing stellar roles.

"I can't see myself making any movies without them. 'Aranyer Din Ratri' is a deep novel. I want to take my cinema beyond 'Kahaani' now," told Ghosh.

The novel had been first filmed by Satyajit Ray in 1970.

Ghosh is content with the response to "Kahaani", and wants to take it forward with the new movie. He hopes to give it a different feel than the eccentric Ray.

"At the moment I'm just enjoying the recognition that has come to me. I've waited so long for it. I'm in Kolkata and I see the expectations in people's eyes. I've to go beyond 'Kahaani' now. I've to live with the novel 'Aranyer Din Ratri' for at least six months. I have to see where I can take it. After all it's been done by Ray before. And Gautam Ghose also made a sequel 'Abar Aranye' in 2003 to the Ray film. So I'll have to route the novel in a completely different direction," told Ghosh, who earlier worked with Amitabh in "Aladin".

Pakistani actress Veena Malik seems to be following Viday Balan's footsteps. She has finished shooting for three Bollywood movies, "Daal Mein Kuch Kaala Hai", "Zindagi 50-50" and "Mumbai 125 km", and tells all are female centric movies.

"I have always tried to choose and sign such films which have a female-oriented character, where the script is based on the female protagonist," Veena said journalists here.

"Daal Mein Kuch Kaala Hai" is a comedy, "Zindagi 50-50" is an issue-based drama and "Mumbai 125 km" is a suspense-thriller.

Veena is now shooting for "Rajani Ki Lag Gai".

"I don't have a hero in any one of movies I have signed till now except 'Supermodel'. Every film is the story of a girl and the whole story revolves around her."

She has teamed up with Ashmit Patel in "Supermodel" - the two became close when they featured in the reality show "Bigg Boss 4".

Aish’s loss was gain for equally talented Vidya Balan!

It is heard that Aishwarya Rai was filmmaker-producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s first choice for his 2005 production Parineeta. However, Aish’s loss was, equally talented Vidya Balan’s gain.

“When we thought of Parineeta, I immediately thought of a face like Aishwarya Rai. The character of the girl is like two men fall in love with her…so the heroine has to be bigger. But Pradeep Sarkar (director) told me about her (Vidya) I was like let me see what she can do,” Chopra said journalists.

“But then we tested and tried her (Vidya Balan) and she cleared it,” Chopra further added.

Vidya’s performance in the film was as usual magical that she went on to get nominated at Filmfare awards not just for the Best Female Debut category, but also in Best Actress category. However, the actress went on to win the Best Female Debut award.

Vidya Balan’s next appearance in Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s production Ferrari Ki Sawaari will be an item number. The actress will be doing an item number for the first time ever.

The tough war between Priyanka and Vidya for Bhandarkar’s next!

Madhur Bhandarkar is presently working on ‘Heroine’. His next movie is said to be a political thriller, based upon the politics in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. He is confused between Vidya Balan and Priyanka Chopra to play the politician’s role.

A close friend of the filmmaker told, “Vidya would suit the role of the mature politician but after working with Priyanka, Bhandarkar has developed a very good professional rapport with her as well. So let’s see which girl wins the race.”

Explaining the character of the politician, she is a woman from the northern part of the country, who is very vulnerable. However, within a short span of five years, she develops into a bold and conniving woman, who survives in the political world.

“Political films are Madhur’s forte. His 2003 Satta based in Mumbai, received critical acclaim,” told the friend.

Bhandarkar’s friend also said, “Madhur is talking to UTV Motion Pictures and Eros International for this one. Both the corporate houses have shown a lot of interest in the project.”

If all goes well, the movie will roll in December 2012.
